How to dial Turkey numbers

In the DanaTel dialer, type 90 (the + is already there), then the number without its first 0. Or paste a number that starts with +90 or 0090. The dialer shows 🇹🇷 Turkey and the price as soon as it recognises the code.

Mobiles

+90 5XX XXX XX XX

Turkish mobile numbers have 11 digits when written locally and start with 05, for example 0532 XXX XX XX. Drop the first 0 and add +90: it becomes +90 532 XXX XX XX.

Landlines

Landlines start with a 3-digit area code. Drop the 0 and add +90: Istanbul (European side) 0212 becomes +90 212, Istanbul (Asian side) 0216 becomes +90 216, Ankara 0312 becomes +90 312, Izmir 0232 becomes +90 232 and Antalya 0242 becomes +90 242.

Istanbul has two landline codes, 212 on the European side and 216 on the Asian side, so check which one the number uses.

Calling Turkey: questions

Is Turkey the same as Türkiye for calls?

Yes. Türkiye is the country's official name; the country code is +90 either way.

Can I call Turkish mobiles on any network?

Yes. All Turkish mobile numbers cost the same per-minute rate, and landlines do too.

What's the time difference with Turkey?

Turkey is 3 hours ahead of the UK in winter and 2 hours ahead in the UK summer. Turkey stays on the same time all year.

Do I need to install an app?

No. DanaTel works in the web browser you already have, on your phone or computer. Sign in, type the number and press Call. On a phone you can add DanaTel to your home screen so it opens like an app, but you don't have to.

How much does it cost?

Each country has a price per minute, shown on our rates page and in the dialer before you call. Some countries also have a small fee per connected call, shown next to the rate. There's no sign-up fee, subscription or monthly charge: you buy credit and it's used as you call.

How is billing calculated?

Calls are billed in 6-second steps: the call length is rounded up to the next 6 seconds, not the next minute, then multiplied by the country's per-minute rate, plus its connection fee if it has one. For example, a call of 2 minutes 3 seconds is billed as 2.1 minutes. The dialer shows the cost so far while you talk.

Are unanswered calls charged?

No. If nobody answers, the line is busy or the call can't connect, you pay nothing, connection fee included.
