How much does it cost to call Pakistan from the UK?
With DanaTel, calls to Pakistan cost £0.30 a minute plus £0.10 for each connected call. You're billed in 6-second steps, so a call of 1 minute 12 seconds is charged as 1.2 minutes, not 2. If nobody answers, or the call lasts 10 seconds or less, it costs nothing.
| Call length | You pay |
|---|---|
| 5 minutes | £1.60 |
| 10 minutes | £3.10 |
| 30 minutes | £9.10 |
Prices are in pounds sterling and can change. The dialer shows the current rate for Pakistan as soon as you type the number, before you press Call, and the cost so far during the call. Credit is taken from your balance as you use it; there's no subscription.
How to dial Pakistan numbers
In the DanaTel dialer, type 92 (the + is already there), then the number without its first 0. Or paste a number that starts with +92 or 0092. The dialer shows 🇵🇰 Pakistan and the price as soon as it recognises the code.
Mobiles
+92 3XX XXX XXXX
Pakistani mobile numbers have 11 digits when written locally and start with 03, for example 0300 XXXXXXX. Drop the first 0 and add +92: 0300 XXXXXXX becomes +92 300 XXXXXXX.
Landlines
Landlines start with a city code. Drop its 0 and add +92: Karachi 021 becomes +92 21, Lahore 042 becomes +92 42, Islamabad and Rawalpindi 051 become +92 51, Faisalabad 041 becomes +92 41 and Peshawar 091 becomes +92 91.
If a relative sends a number that already starts with +92 or 0092, copy it and paste it into the dialer as it is: DanaTel tidies it up for you.

Calling Pakistan: questions
Can I call any mobile network in Pakistan?
Yes. DanaTel calls Pakistani mobile numbers whichever network they're on, at the same per-minute rate, and landlines cost the same too.
Does the person in Pakistan need WhatsApp or the internet?
No. DanaTel connects to the ordinary phone network in Pakistan, so the call rings on their phone like a normal call. Only you need an internet connection.
What's the best time to call Pakistan from the UK?
Pakistan is 5 hours ahead of the UK in winter and 4 hours ahead in summer, because Pakistan doesn't change its clocks. An early-evening call from the UK arrives late at night in Pakistan, so lunchtime or the afternoon in the UK often suits better.
Do I need to install an app?
No. DanaTel works in the web browser you already have, on your phone or computer. Sign in, type the number and press Call. On a phone you can add DanaTel to your home screen so it opens like an app, but you don't have to.
How much does it cost?
Each country has a price per minute, shown on our rates page and in the dialer before you call. Some countries also have a small fee per connected call, shown next to the rate. There's no sign-up fee, subscription or monthly charge: you buy credit and it's used as you call.
How is billing calculated?
Calls are billed in 6-second steps: the call length is rounded up to the next 6 seconds, not the next minute, then multiplied by the country's per-minute rate, plus its connection fee if it has one. For example, a call of 2 minutes 3 seconds is billed as 2.1 minutes. The dialer shows the cost so far while you talk.
Are unanswered calls charged?
No. If nobody answers, the line is busy or the call can't connect, you pay nothing, connection fee included.
