International calling from a computer
Calling abroad from a laptop or desktop: what you need and how to sound clear.
Updated 1 October 2026
A laptop or desktop is a comfortable way to make long calls abroad, especially with a headset. You can call ordinary mobiles and landlines from your browser, with nothing to install.
What you need
- Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook with a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
- A microphone and speakers. Most laptops have both; a headset or earbuds with a microphone sounds better and avoids echo.
- A steady internet connection. A cable or a good Wi-Fi signal works best.
Making the call
- Open danatel.net and sign in.
- Type the number with its country code. You can use your keyboard, or paste a number.
- Click Call and allow the microphone when the browser asks.
If they can't hear you
- Check the browser is allowed to use the microphone: look for the microphone or padlock icon in the address bar.
- Check the right microphone is selected in your computer's sound settings, especially if you plug in a headset after opening the page. Reload the page after changing it.
- Close other apps that might be using the microphone, such as video calls.
Calls are billed in 6-second steps and unanswered calls are free. See rates or create a free account.
